Explorer Buddy provides you with two additional sortable columns in the Explorer's detail view:

The "Extension" column gives you the freedom to search for "the .ini-files" instead of looking for "Configuration Settings". File extensions do not change when installing new applications that handle these type of files.

The "Short filename" column shows you what might have been used in the registry or an a diskette. You can view the long and the short name of a file at one glance.
Wildcard selection
With Explorer Buddy
you can select files by typing wildcard strings:
- Simply type in the search pattern and Explorer Buddy does all the "mouse clicking" for you. You have the choice of selecting files in the folder currently displayed in Explorers's detail view only, or do a recursive search in all sub-folders as well.
Wildcard operations include:

Wildcard Select:
Select files in the currently displayed folder for Drag & Drop

Wildcard Rename:
Rename all files matching the search pattern

Wildcard Move:
Move all files matching the search pattern into a different folder and (if necessary) rename them in one go

Wildcard Copy:
Copy all files matching the search pattern to a different folder and (if necessary) rename them in one go

Wildcard Delete:
Delete all files matching the search pattern into the recycle bin or remove them permanently

Wildcard File Attribute Change:
Independently change the file attributes, like "Hidden", "Archive" and so on, of all files matching the search pattern
